Niagara Power Authority Water Intakes    (Niagara Falls)   These water intake structures are located along the Robert Moses State Parkway approximately two miles above the falls, one and one-half miles downriver from the north Grand Island Bridge.  A fairly large lot is available for parking.  The water intakes overlook a section of the upper Niagara River designated as the Buckhorn Island-Goat Island Rapids Significant Coastal Fish and Wildlife Habitat.  This is one of the most important feeding and resting waterfowl areas in the northeast U.S., especially for diving ducks.  Large rafts of ducks are frequently present offshore from the water intakes   October through January.
